Hello !

This is how certain exams are taken in Denmark:

Denmark Allows Internet In Exams

Now you have done your research on the Civil Rights Movement, I wonder what you think about having this kind of work as an official exam? Imagine if I asked you to produce this report in 2 hours in the IT room...do you think this would test skills of the 21st century or would it be simply too new to reflect your level? Do you think knowing things by heart is still important today? Why? Why not? Do you think this kind of exams opens itself to cheating more than "old fashioned" exams?

I think it's a good and a bad idea as everyone. You can find informations more quickly and bring more precisions. Computer is used by everyone, everyday so it can be good to use new technologies.
So it can test facilities to use the Internet correctly and to recognize false and true sites (because all the informations aren't true !!). But it's also a bad idea because if all the states will
do this, people will don't have knowledges and it would be a very big problem for coming societies. Teachers don't really test the students... You can talk with the others students by social
networks and then you can cheat easily.

I agree with Coralie and most students. This can be an interesting work to learn how to find accurate information or not. But , students in Denmark have access to everything, even to Facebook and
so can communicate with outside, even if it is forbidden. And as said above, the information found will be forgotten except for some significant events perhaps. The method "by heart" is also
necessary, it helps to know who learns his lessons, and not cheating.

To my mind, this system, born in Denmark, is at the same time a good and a bad idea. Good because students can deepen their controls with anectodes and they can also avoid mistakes. However, this
system give an excessive access to students, who can go on facebook and ask people to help them or don't learn their lessons, because the most important informations are on internet.

I agree with everyone because the computer is an integral part of our lives today. This is very interesting to find information on the internet because it will deepen our research so to learn a
little more, but as the saying appoline I think learning by heart is useful because you do not remenber you all next week, but that some important information, however it is the very good method of
education.
